With Balmoral just around the corner, we decided to celebrate all things local by compiling some of our favourite places to visit this fall. From farmers markets and pumpkin patches to spooky Halloween trails and food trucks galore, you’ll find what you’re searching for in Northern Ireland.
Hillsborough Farmers Market
When is it? 10am-3pm - 25th Sept & 30th Oct 2021.
Must see: The oyster stand – give them a try!
The Hillsborough Farmers Market only comes around once a month and you do not want to miss it! Situated in the scenic surroundings of Dark Walk Lane at the Fort, you can expect to find amazing local produce such as cured meats, fruits, vegetables, street food, coffee and oysters if you fancy giving them a go!
Streamvale Farm Pumpkin Patch
When is it? 16th - 31st October – Booking essential
Must see: The immersive Spooky Trail
Grab your wellies and get down to Streamvale farm for hours of pumpkin picking fun! On the day, kids will be provided with a mini wheelbarrow to search for their favourite pumpkins, before carving them onsite with a helping hand from the Streamvale staff. Luckily this pumpkin patch has a Halloween twist and kids can design spooky lanterns, take tractor rides and enjoy lots of animal shows along the way. At only £3.50 per person, it’s perfect for the whole family so be sure to book early.
Inns Cross Market
When is it? First Saturday of every month
Must see: Natural skincare & craft stalls
For top local produce and a Saturday morning buzz, Inns Cross Market is well worth a visit. Situated on the Saintfield Road, it boasts the best of local fare including coffee stands, artisan food producers and a variety of delicious baked goods. With an old filling station roof covering the entire market, it’s the perfect place to visit rain, hail or shine.
