Update - Energy support schemes for Northern Ireland

For Residential Customers:

The UK Government has announced that it will be implementing the Energy Price Guarantee and the Energy Bill Support Scheme to help households with their energy bills this winter.

Electric Ireland is committed to supporting its customers and will be participating in the scheme. Customers do not need to take any action. Once the Government have confirmed the packages available, we will contact you directly to advise what these schemes mean for you and how they will be implemented.

For Business Customers:

The Energy Bill Relief Scheme (EBRS) is an initiative of the UK Government to support businesses and other non-domestic customers in Northern Ireland throughout the energy crisis. EBRS discounts will be automatically applied to energy usage initially between 1 October 2022 and 31 March 2023. For those eligible, Electric Ireland are aiming to have discounts on customer’s bills from their December bill onwards. Your discount will be backdated to 1 October 2022. We are endeavouring to roll this out as quickly as possible, but timing may differ depending on complexities of individual customer products.
