Hello May! Why not add some colour to your calendar this month with fun-filled events across Northern Ireland for all ages. The best part? They are all free!

Mo Mowlam Play Park, Stormont

When: 9.30 am to 7.30 pm every Monday to Sunday

Where: Summerhill Ave, Belfast BT4 3LQ

Highlights: The park hosts a ‘Quiet Hour’ every Sunday from 9.30am to 10.30am to create a calmer space for children with extra needs – so nice!

This all-inclusive play park was designed to suit children of all ages and stages.

With over 40 pieces to play on including a castle themed area, roundabout, a wheelchair friendly swing and a multi-sensory station, your kids will love every second. The grown-ups can also enjoy the green spaces nearby as they soak up the grounds of Stormont Estate.

Urban Market, East Belfast

Urban Market at the heart of C.S. Lewis Square hosts the best of local makers and creators every third Saturday of the month! With handmade food, craft & lifestyle stalls on offer, why not take a visit to East Belfast and enjoy the market under the watchful eye of Aslan, the statue. Other well-known characters from the famous novel, "The Lion, the Witch & the Wardrobe”, can also be viewed in the area.

Our Place in Space by Unboxed

When: 22nd April – 22nd May

Where: Derry~Londonderry

Highlights: A Guinness World Record attempt for the most people gathered in one place dressed as astronauts – sounds like fun!

Unboxed are hosting a series of events during May as part of Our Place in Space. To bring an immersive creative experience to the UK, they have created a 10km sculpture trail of the solar system that will animate across the riverside in Derry~Londonderry. As part of the project, they are holding a host of other space-themed events such as astronaut costume workshops, yoga, storytelling, live music, circus performances and so much more. With something for every member of the family, you’re sure to have an out of this world time!

Walled City Markets

When: 7th May

Where: Guildhall Square, Derry~Londonderry.

Highlights: Food galore! Check out all the local food vendors and bring home some delicious treats.
