Causeway Coastin’

The causeway coast offers endless activities to keep all the family amused, no matter how young or old they are. From visits to the stunning Giant’s Causeway, Carrick-a-Rede bridge and Dunluce Castle, to picnics and water sports at beaches in Ballycastle, Portstewart or Portrush. Finish off your day with a delicious meal in one of many restaurants in the area. 

Ulster Folk and Transport Museum

Step back in time with your family to discover Ulster 100 years ago. The Ulster Folk and Transport Museum is a wonderful ode to yester year, with opportunities to experience traditional transport, cooking and living. The tours are a great opportunity for families and individuals to soak up Ulster’s important past.

Connswater Greenway

A new attraction to Belfast, the Connsway Greenway offers a great family day of cycling or walking along its path; passing different rivers, wildlife and nature along the way. At the end of the path take a walk around C.S. Lewis Square, a wonderful park filled with sculptures and pictures celebrating the C.S. Lewis Narnia series. Afterwards, stop for a well deserved lunch at JACK, a café located within the square.

Bangor Pickie Fun Park

Located within the seaside town of Bangor, Pickie Fun Park is a fun-filled day out, with its outdoor play park, a lagoon with swan rides, mini golf, and electric carts to race. There is also the Pickie Café if family members need something to eat during the day, or bring along a picnic and enjoy the views across Bangor Marina.

Cuilcagh Mountain

At the heart of Fermanagh’s Lakelands, Cuilcagh Mountain is an excellent option for families with active teens, its highest ascent reaching 550 meters. Either the boardwalk (only opened in 2015) or more expert hiker’s trail will appeal to families keen to enjoy the outdoors. Not too far away are also the Marble Arch Caves which could potentially become part of a day trip.
