How do I enter a top up code into my keypad meter?

To enter your top up code into your keypad meter take the following steps:

Step 1 Press the * button on your keypad meter and enter the top up code

Step 2 When you have the code entered Press the # button - You will then see the message ‘Sending’ on your keypad meter screen

Step 3 Press * to go back to the previous display screen

If no button has been pressed on your keypad meter for 20 seconds, the keypad meter will default back to main display screen.

If you need to find out your most recent keypad meter top up code please call 0345 600 5335, select Option 1 for keypad meter top up and then Option 2 to hear your last top up code.

When entering your top up code, it is possible you will see the following messages displayed on your keypad meter screen:

"Error" Displays when the top up code is missing a number or has been entered too slowly

"Accepted" Displays when the top up code has been accepted by your keypad meter. The top up amount will appear, followed by “Account” and the total credit on the meter

"Rejected" If you see this message, wait until the message is cleared and start again at Step 1 to enter your top up code

"Wrong Tar" If you see this message, the price of electricity has changed and a 40 digit or 60 digit top up code needs to be entered to set up the keypad meter for the new electricity rates. This will include your top up amount

"Duplicate" Displays when the top up code has been entered previously, and you can’t us it again

"Credit HI" Displays when there is too much credit on the meter. You should wait for 1 week and re-enter code.

"Incorrect" Displays when the top up code has been entered incorrectly or does not relate to that specific meter

"Kblock" If you see this message, the top up code has been entered incorrectly 5 times. Contact our Customer Care team on 0345 600 5335 (Monday to Friday, 8.30am–7pm, excluding bank holidays).
