Cleaning Beats

Getting your favourite tunes playing out loud will make all the difference when cleaning. Choose a motivational playlist and making the cleaning a fun experience for all.

Multi-tasking Dishwasher

As we know, multi-tasking is an important skill to learn when running a household – so it is great to know your dishwasher can do this. Mental Floss suggests we use the dishwasher for more than dishes. Household items such as refrigerator shelves, kitchen sponges and brushes, microwave turntables, pet dishes, plastic kids’ toys, soap dishes, and even your showerhead (if it’s removable) can be put in for a deep clean. While the dishwasher is on you can then get on with other cleaning.

Sparkling Mirrors

Mirrors can be difficult to keep clean, especially those in the bathroom. The Daily Mail advises to squirt some shaving foam on your mirror and wipe clean with a cloth to remove any smears. Shaving foam creates a protective film over the mirror that keeps it from fogging. Our Spring Cleaning Tips explores more tips for keeping your bathroom fresh and clean.

Odourless Oven

The deep clean of the oven can be one of the most time-consuming tasks of our spring cleaning. Instead of buying expensive oven cleaner, Ideal Home highlights how using a little bicarbonate of soda will work wonders. Add a few teaspoons to a spray bottle with water in it and leave overnight. The next day, you can wipe it clean!

Odd Socks have a purpose?

Spring cleaning Despite our best efforts, socks often lose their partner and seemingly disappear into a dark hole. For your spring clean this year, take inspiration from Home Serve and fish out those odd socks to use as a duster instead. This will help reach all the nukes and crannies your hands can’t reach.

Freeze the Fridge Smells

If you have identified the cause of the smell in your fridge, but the smell wont go away, Housewife How Tos recommends a bowl of coffee granules for absorbing nasty smells. Change this every few months and your fridge should stay fresh.

Hairdryer Hacks

If you have kids, water stains on wood surfaces can be a common occurrence. Place the hairdryer on medium heat and use on the stain, while wiping away with a dry cloth. The hairdryer can also be used to soften those annoying stickers on appliances, making them easier to peel away. Are you a fan of handy hacks?
