Fangtastic Fun in NI this Halloween
From fancy dress to trick-or-treating, face painting to ghostly fun, Halloween is a time of year many of us will be throwing ourselves into.
In Northern Ireland, there are plenty of events to ensure you have a great Halloween without spending too much money. With that in mind, below is a list of money-saving Halloween activities happening near you.
Derry Halloween

The City of Derry’s Halloween programme seems to be getting bigger every year. And, with over 200 events at 40 venues planned this year, it looks set to be an epic Halloween celebration for all. Take a look at the event’s “spookily packaged” Halloween programme which includes a Fun Halloween Monster Mash, storytelling events and a haunted castle experience.
Newcastle Hallowtide Festival
31st October 2018
In Newcastle, locals and visitors will be treated to a firework display on Halloween night. A Halloween parade will move through the town at 7 pm, followed by a stunning firework display over the water. Dress up in your best Halloween outfit and pop along with the family for a fun-filled evening.
Belfast Halloween Monster Mash and Firework Display

Belfast City’s annual Halloween Monster Mash is returning to Belfast’s Titanic Quarter and promises to be spookier than ever! The free event will include a firework display set to the musical Wicked soundtrack, street artists and many more spooky treats as you make your way along The Slipways.
Halloween Family Fun at Armagh Museum
27th October 2018
Armagh is putting on an afternoon of Halloween family fun at its museum. The museum will reveal Halloween traditions from the past and open its new Costume Cavalcade exhibition to visitors. What’s more, there will be a Talking Reptiles display, with reptiles and creepy crawlies making an appearance. The best bit? It’s all for free!

Halloween Spooktacular at Marble Arch Caves
27th & 29th October 2018
Visitors can go on a spooky tour through the Marble Arch Caves this Halloween as part of a special Halloween Spooktacular event the weekend before Halloween. The Caves’ dark and mysterious setting is sure to be a spine-tingling experience and who knows what will be discovered along the way!
