Innovating for success – Nokia’s CEO talks to NI businesses

Nokia’s CEO of UK and Ireland, Cormac Whelan, will be the keynote speaker at the Northern Ireland Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s Growing Something Brilliant event, in partnership with Electric Ireland, which will take place in the MAC, Belfast on Tuesday 13th November.

In what will be the second Growing Something Brilliant event of this year, the leadership series seeks to inspire local business people focusing on the importance of inspirational leadership in boosting productivity, performance and success. As keynote speaker, Cormac Whelan, who will be in conversation with BBC News Reporter Mark Simpson, will be discussing leadership, disruption in the marketplace and how to overcome it, as well as innovation and business development.

Originally from Dublin, Cormac will share insights into his own business journey throughout a dynamic and distinguished career path where he has spent more than two decades in a number of global blue-chip organisations as senior executive, gaining extensive experience in sales, marketing, strategic planning and business development. Prior to his current position Cormac led the Alcatel-Lucent business in the UK & Ireland and has also worked in senior roles at BT and international roles at UUNET and Motorola.

Cormac WhelanIn his role as CEO, Cormac leads all operations for the UK & Ireland markets including sales, business management, delivery and operations. Since joining Nokia nearly 8 years ago, Cormac has steered the company through some significant changes using his expertise in strategic planning and change management to build the company’s market credentials.
