Great NI Easter Activities for All the Family

To help you make the most of your Easter break, below is a list of great Northern Ireland based Easter activities to enjoy with all the family.

1. Discover Easter Florals at Springhill 

Electric Ireland-EasterRunning from 26th March – 8th April, you can put a spring in your step by discovering new seasonal florals in the vast meadows and themed trails at Springhill. The kids will love the natural play area for a few hours of entertainment. This Easter you can also find an Easter Egg hunt at Springhill, and at many other National Trust properties throughout Northern Ireland.

2. Naturally North Coast

Try some North Coast delicacies at the award-winning North Coast and Glens Artisan Market on Monday 2nd April. Located at the Marine Hotel in Ballycastle, here you can find fresh, local produce and handcrafted goods. Entry is free and the market runs from 11am – 4pm

3. The Easter Aliens Have Landed at W5

Easter FunTake your little superheroes to W5 between 24th March – 8th April to explore the recent alien landing! Begin by making your own Alien Invader from cardboard and let your kids’ imagination run wild. Admission to the Alien Invasion is free as part of admission into W5.

4. Take to the Waters

Try something new this Easter and explore the lakes of Lough Erne by hiring a boat at Castle Archdale Marina. Pack a picnic for family and friends to explore the fascinating Fermanagh waterways. Stop off on one of the many islands for a snack, or where possible, catch your lunch by fishing directly from the boat. The great news is that no previous experience or boating licence is required as full instruction and materials are given upon hiring a boat from the Marina.

5. A Planet of Fun in Carrickfergus

The popular Planet Fun returns this Easter from 30th March to 14th April. Feel the thrills and excitement of the 60m Star Flyer or, if you’re feeling brave enough, have a go on Ultra Buzz. Make a day of it with a visit to Carrickfergus Castle beforehand and. if you get the weather, a water-side picnic could be just the ticket.

6. Action Packed Adventure Easter in Limavady

If you’re feeling brave this Easter take on the Carrowmena challenge at the Carrowmena Activity Centre in Limavady. Test your skills to the limit with shooting, climbing and paddling. If you have not yet sailed through the forest, now is your chance! Leap off the platform suspended in the air,or make like Spiderman up the 28 ft climbing wall. All that exercise will work up an appetite so enjoy snacks, tea, coffee and tray bakes to boost the sugar levels. 

7. The Three Little Pigs

If the ‘Three Little Pigs’ was a popular bedtime story in your home, find out who is still afraid of the big, bad wolf at Navan Fort and Visitors Centre. The Centre is hosting the three little pigs in houses made from straw, wood and stone. Join in on the action with your own piggy craft to take home memories of a fun-filled family day out. Booking in advance is necessary and tickets cost £7.25, with under 2’s free of charge.

8. Woodlands Petting Farm

Electric Ireland-EasterOn Easter Saturday, Sunday and Monday you can join the Easter Treasure Hunt at Jungle NI. In a race against time you must make sense of puzzles and figure out the clues to answer riddles that uncover hidden eggs. Kids will also enjoy the Woodland Petting Farm where they can get their hands on chicks, lambs and piglets.
