Festival season is well and truly underway, with a variety of festivals offering music, food, culture and dance entertainment throughout the summer. From daytime to weekend-long festivals, there are a few things to consider before throwing yourself into a festival experience.
Find below a list of 7 tips and hacks to ensure you are festival-ready and have the best time EVER!
7 Great Festival Tips and Hacks
1) Practice Pitching a Tent
If planning to camp at a festival then it is worth putting in a practice run of pitching your tent a few days before your festival experience or, better still, get a pop-up tent that will take a matter of seconds to pitch. You will save precious time that could be better spent in front of a stage or hanging out with friends.
2) Keep Clean
Festivals can sometimes get a bit muddy, especially after a heavy downpour. Make sure to pack a pair of wellies if the weather looks to be taking a turn for the worse. Also, wet wipes and hand sanitiser will come in handy for any trips to the port-a-loo.
3) Pack Wisely
A savvy festival goer will know to pack as sparingly as possible for a festival, especially if tents and sleeping bags are being brought along as well. If that is the case, it pays to have a good think about your wardrobe and to save space with travel-sized toiletries. Check out our Top 10 Packing Hacks for further packing ideas.
4) Pillow Case It
When camping, bring a pillowcase and stuff it with clothes to give it the look and feel of a real pillow. This is much better than having to lug a pillow with you to the festival or forking out for a travel-sized one.
5) Power Up
Make sure to pack a portable power bank to keep all your electrical goods charged up during a festival. There is nothing worse than your phone going dead when a perfect photo opportunity comes about or when needing to get in touch with a friend who is lost in the crowds.
6) Meet Up Point
Speaking of getting lost, if you are heading to a festival with a large group, it is probably a good idea to assign a meeting point as soon as you arrive, so as to keep everyone together as much as possible throughout the weekend.
7) Nighty Night
Come night time, there are a few handy items that will ensure you get a good night’s sleep when camping at a festival, such as a good set of earplugs and an eye mask. A torch will also prove useful when needing to pop out to the toilet in the middle of the night.
