1. Carrick-a-rede Rope bridge, Ballycastle

Step across the Atlantic Ocean on Carrick-a-rede rope bridge, suspended 30 metres above sea level, and take in the scenic views that surround you on top of the cliffs. The trail provides some superb points for the perfect family photograph for you all to treasure. To end the day, grab a bite to eat in the café or bring your own snacks for a scenic picnic.

2. Mussenden Temple, Castlerock

Mussenden Temple is renowned for its breath-taking views as it sits at the top of a 120 ft cliff overlooking Downhill Beach, which consists of a short walk to the top. You can keep the kids entertained throughout with Children’s Tracker Packs which include binoculars, a compass and bird identification cards. This is the perfect spot for a productive day finished off with a family picnic to refuel or enjoy the range of nearby restaurants in Castlerock town.

3. Corralea Activity Centre - Belcoo, Enniskillen

If you and your family want to get active and enjoy the lakes of Fermanagh, then this is the perfect opportunity to spend some quality time together. The Corralea Activity Centre offers a range of activities including; water trampolines, canoeing, windsurfing, archery and climbing. You can also enjoy a family BBQ after an active day, or why not make it a weekend getaway and stay in one of their self-catering cottages?

4. Armagh Planetarium

If the weather isn’t holding up, you can still get your family out of the house and experience Armagh Planetarium. The Planetarium offers a unique experience that can be enjoyed by kids, teenagers and parents. You can take a tour of the planet and the night sky in the amazing Digital Dome Theatre or discover more in the exhibition rooms which includes the largest meteorite on display in Ireland.

5. Streamvale Open Farm, Dundonald

Explore the Streamvale Open Farm this summer which is home to lots of different animals and indoor and outdoor activities which run every 15 minutes. When you arrive, you will receive a map of the farm which lists all the things you can do. A family ticket includes access to live shows, feeding and cuddling times and tractor rides, to name a few - for all to enjoy and to keep you occupied. While you’re there, why not check out the delicious free-range ice cream which is made on site and sold in the café and shop.

6. Ulster American Folk Park, Omagh

Take you and your family back in time and experience the journey of those who made their way to America across the Atlantic Ocean. Enjoy a self-guided tour of the thatched cottages and log cabins filled with characters who will bring this historical time to life, they’ll even share some intriguing stories with you and give you the chance to try some traditional crafts. You can even yourself in the shoes of the emigrants by boarding the ship and see the conditions faced by many on-board for yourself.
