Electric Ireland has been named the top ranked electricity supplier in Northern Ireland with an impressive customer score of 80% in a recent annual energy company customer survey conducted by consumer champion, 'Which?'.

The survey asked Northern Ireland energy customers to rate their electricity and gas supplier on its customer service and complaints handling, billing, whether they feel it’s value for money and if they think it helps them save energy. Electric Ireland, which only launched into the residential market in 2015, goes straight to the top of the table sitting well above the other six energy suppliers with the two market leaders at the bottom of the table on 66% and 53%.

The consumer champion, 'Which?', advises people to not “put up with high bills and slack customer service”. The survey found that a quarter of respondents in Northern Ireland who haven’t switched say they think all suppliers are the same, however, the consumer watchdog reveals they are not and advises people to “use these results to make sure you choose one of the best firms”.

Top-scorer Electric Ireland is part of the ESB Group which has supplied energy to households in Ireland for 90 years and has been operating in the business energy market in Northern Ireland since 2001.
